Hello all,
Tuesday was a good day. Cairo taught first today on the doctrine of Christ. Then Steve taught on the Holy Spirit, and I taught the first part of the angel doctrine. Overall it went pretty well. We had a couple of questions that seemed to come out of left field that we needed to go back to the books to answer.
Today there were some things that challenged some of the beliefs around here, especially the doctrines of Christ and the Holy Spirit. One view here about Christ is that He was a man who became a god. Cairo really emphasized Christ's eternal nature and diety to counter that view. Also prevalent is the view that the Holy Spirit comes to the believer after salvation (in a second baptism) so Steve also addressed that specifically. Please pray that the Holy Spirit would work in hearts and that those holding these views will reconsider what and why they believe.
The bulb continues to work - so thanks for praying for that!
I'm trying to get the knack of speaking through an interpreter. I tend to talk to Arlen instead of the group, so I need to work on that - please pray I'll get the knack soon.
Many folks came up after the last session and thanked us each for teaching; that was a real encouragement.
In His Grip,
Cassius
