Hope Church

One very old Christians saying goes, "God uses crooked sticks to strike straight blows." The idea is that in our difficulties, brokeness, and even sinfulness God uses us as His instruments in the lives of others.

However, many of us seem to think that God only uses "professionals." But that misses the point of nature of the church. He has gifted all of us. He has given us backgrounds and experiences. He has put us in contact with others in the His church. And He desires to use you to help others (and you become) more like Christ.

This is one of the reasons we are working through the book "Instrument in the Redeemer's Hands" by Paul Tripp. It highlights these Biblical truths and helps us figure out how to put them into use. In addition to Tripp's book let me point you to another author who has helped me to develop along these lines. David Powlison is an teacher, counselor, and pastor. Here are a couple series online that help lay out some of these thoughts.  Check out some these out:

Hi,

We are also going through Instruments in the Redeemer's Hands. We are now in chapter 4. I am wondering if you can give me the outline of your study.

Thanks.

Paul

Hey Paul, thanks for your

Hey Paul,

thanks for your comment. I am not currently using a "publishible" outline, just my teaching notes. Sorry - but you would get my scribbles that even sometimes I can't figure out. :>}

I am cover about 2 chapters a week and handing out study questions I have prepared. I would be glad to e-mail those to you if you like.

Hope that helps.

I'm curious: how did you find us?

Hi, Thanks for the response.

Hi,

Thanks for the response. I would greatly appreciate it if you can email to me your teaching notes plus the scribbles. :) Please include also the study questions.

How did I find you? A lady member in the church gave me this web page. She was also looking for an outline of the book.

Again, thank you very much.

Paul
