World Team Missions / Downtown Rescue Mission

Mickey and Cherie Counter served with World Team Missions for over 20 years as missionaries to Brazil. The Counters trained pastors, guided new believers and shared the love of Jesus in the Portuguese language throughout southern Brazil.  More recently Mickey and Cherie and their grown children, Keely and Caleb, have moved back to the Huntsville area. Mickey is on staff as a senior counselor at the Downtown Rescue Mission, providing wisdom and guidance through God’s Word on a daily basis for their 1 year life recovery discipleship program. Mickey and Cherie often provide inspirational music for the Hope Church Worship Service and lead a community group. Caleb and Keely are pursuing studies in college and are involved in campus ministry opportunities and Hope Church functions. Make it a point to meet Mickey and Cherie before or after Church any Sunday.
